Artist Statement

​

I am a creative. As a designer and conceptualist,  it is my goal to capture the theme and nostalgic features of a design or piece. I achieve this through interpersonal connections that I make to the prompted situation. I find delight in piecing together a design based on gathered research because it allows me the opportunity to gain knowledge and to communicate it visually. I believe the communication of a message varies on perception and visual art is the perfect medium  to test that theory.

 

Since an early age, I have always been intrigued by arts and entertainment. From the dress up shoots as a movie star, to the talent shows, playing instruments, styling and thrifting, I knew I would be destined for something dope. I didn’t discover my love for digital design until I dove head first into the VCDMA program at Bowie State University. My senior thesis is a direct reflection of my matriculation and new found ability to open my interpersonal feelings to a larger audience.

My senior show “The Bad Guy” is curated to be a space where people such as myself can find comfort in knowing  that though you may be perceived as the villain(in any situation) , your  perspective is necessary in its representation of what may be an underrepresented community of people.
